Governor Talks Post Election
The day after an historic election and big Democratic gains, Colorado Governor Bill Ritter praised Senator Barack Obama and talked about the challenges facing the state with the failure of several ballot questions. Ritter says he’s disappointed that amendment 58 was defeated despite the months he spent campaigning for its passage. Bente Birkeland reports from Denver.

Amendment 58 was defeated because the supporters failed to
inform voters that oil and natural gas prices are set by the commodities market.
And there is NO correlation between taxes on extraction of such minerals and the retail price of such commodities.
If taxes is too high, the companies will stop drilling if there is NO profit, but that is separate issue.
