If state lawmakers don’t pass a budget on time they won’t get paid. That’s the premise of a bill currently under consideration in the senate. Democratic Senate President Brandon Shaffer is the main sponsor.  And while it passed its first test on Wednesday, Bente Birkeland reports that lawmakers on both sides of the aisle remain lukewarm to the idea.
